Query Caching Preferences

This section of the Control Panel allows you to define the basic settings for query caching.

Main Screen

The main Query Caching Preferences screen shows a table of the preferences. All the query caching preferences are set via this screen.

All preferences in this area of the Control Panel are required fields.

Enable SQL Query Caching

Here you can determine whether or not Query Caching is enabled for your site. Query caching is one of several ways that ExpressionEngine can increase performance for your site. Read more in the Data Caching section.

Query Cache Pruning

This preference sets the number of days to keep old cache files. This does not apply to the cache files that have been updated within the specified time period. 30 days is a typical setting value for most sites.
